Blog Revival
also See Huey's post below...
As I look through the blog template, I realize that the name of the blogger doesn't show up at the end of the post! *Horrors!* I shall fix it soon then.
I've already written a long bit about my first week of lectures to Huey in a letter so those who want to read it, click
here (links to my main blog).
I'm thinking about learning C++. You know why? One night, someone asked me how to convert a .tga file to a more usual picture filetype (eg. jpg, gif, etc). I googled for it and found that all the software that did that
they were all open source software and I have
no idea how to use them. I have some vague ideas about compilers, etc but most of the stuff on sourceforge is greek to me. And you know what? It just annoys the heck out of me. There are times when I want to download one software or another but because I know nothing installing it, I can't use them! Geez, anyway, so that means... I want to learn C++ (at least to the extent of knowing how to install all the goodies I find). So, I have some vague online goal nowadays...
(As for the .tga coversion, I put it through GIMP -- a image manipulating program aka photoshop alternative -- and saved it as a jpg file.
But that's not the point! Not knowing how to do it via the first solution (ie. googled tga software) annoys me. Annoys me very very much.)
I shall now sms XZ and see if she'll have a go at reviving this blog. Haiz, it's so sad not to see y'all nowadays. Huey still working, XZ in law faculty (but at least we can meet for lunch ^_^), Gerald in Army, KK... Sigh... University's pretty fun but I find it's hard to click with the people there since we don't go to the same classes or anything. There's my roommate but... she's my roommate (singular)! Maybe just need time? Since tutorials haven't started and all. But it'll just be for one semester! Just know that I'm missing y'all.
Also, fyi, I'm taking:
1) Bahasa Indonesia,
2) History,
3) Microbes Which Changed Human History,
4) Philosophy and
5) Sociology.
Yes, I know, quite a mix but 2, 4 and 5 are exposure/introductory modules while 1 is a beginner's course and 3 is a general module (for non-Bio/Life Sciences students, of course Medicine students can't take it either). I give myself max 1 more semester to decide what to major in. Haiz...
Also, the latest news I know about y'all:
1) Huey: Still working? But your SMU starts next week...
2) XZ: In Law (duh ^_^;;;).
3) Gerald: In army; in infantry...
So that's all for now, do read the post below by huey. Cheers!
PS. If there's anything about the layout you don't like, or that you think should be changed, don't hesitate to tell me! Do you know how much I love fooling around with templates? Heheh...
